Being insecure about your body is one thing, and having a transplant is another. For anyone, body transplants can cause a major blunder in their life. The former WWE superstar found himself in such a situation wherein his body rejected calf implants that might have caused him to amputate his legs.

This ex-WWE star is none other than Marcus Bagwell, formerly known as Buff Bagwell in professional wrestling. Buff Bagwell is best known for his time in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) from the 1990s to the 2000s. After staying in Vince McMahon’s rival company for a decade, he jumped ship to WWE because Mr. McMahon purchased WCW.

However, Buff Bagwell only had one match in Mr. McMahon’s WWE. Buff Bagwell battled against six-time World Champion Booker T for the WCW Championship.

What happened with calf implants of Buff Bagwell?

During Buff Bagwell’s professional wrestling career, he was known for the infamous calf implants. But, the former five-time World Tag Team Champion did not have a pleasant experience with calf implants. Recently, former WWE star Bagwell shared a photo of his calf implants on his Twitter to show fans what calf implants look like.

Unfortunately, the WCW legend during his career suffered an infection because of these calf implants. Immediately, with the help of medical attention, Bagwell was forced to remove them because the infection was not well-received by his body.

If Bagwell had continued to stay with calf implants for any longer time, then he would have had to have his legs amputated. Fortunately, the WCW legend realized it sooner than later and removed them before severe trouble.

Eric Bischoff shared a story about Bagwell’s calf implants from the WCW days!

The former WCW boss Eric Bischoff in 2020 discussed Buff Bagwell’s implants on his 83 Weeks podcast. The WCW roster used to rib Bagwell for his enormous calves’ back in the days. But, surprisingly, Bagwell never got offended by the jokes happening in the WCW backstage.

Bischoff said, “The entire roster was laughing and talking about it. It took a long time for Marcus to live that down, a long time. Nobody even tried to hide the fact that they were having a great time at Bagwell’s expense by laughing and joking about this. I do remember it, the ribbing that he took.”

“I think the only reason he was able to come back and work his way through it is because he was so in vain, he didn’t care. He probably felt at the time that having massive calves was one of the most important things in his life. Maybe the reason he wore long tights is because he felt insecure about his minuscule calves,” Eric Bischoff added.
