WWE Drafted Gable Steveson to WWE Raw on September 4th, 2021. He is one of the youngest wrestlers to have signed with the company.
Before the WWE Universe starts watching him on television, here are five interesting facts about the young wrestler.
1. Gable Steveson Shares Major Wrestling Similarities With Brock Lesnar

Steveson and The Beast, both of them, began their professional wrestling careers while attending University of Minnesota. Apart from that, both of them competed in and became champions for NCAA Championships.
After working in freestyle wrestling, both signed up with WWE to move their wrestling careers forwards in the sports entertainment industry.

2. First Superstar to do Amateur and Pro-Wrestling Simultaneously
It’s not everyday that a young Superstar enters the ring with a plethora of experience. But, Steveson did. He skipped WWE NXT altogether when WWE drafted him to Raw at Draft 2021.
Now, even though he is signed with WWE, he is going to return to college to defend his NCAA Division I Championship.
3. First American Super-Heavyweight Olympic Gold Medalist of the Millennium
Gable Steveson overpowered three time world champion, Georgia’s Geno Petriashvili, to secure the Gold. Initially, the score was 9-8 but Petriashvili’s corner challenged the decision and lost another point in the process.
Steveson secured his first Olympic Gold Medal at 2020 Tokyo Olympics with a score of 10-8. Prior to Steveson, Bruce Baumgartner secured the Gold in 1984 Los Angeles.
4. Last-Second Miracle for 2020 Tokyo Olympics Gold
During the 2020 Tokyo Olympics match freestyle wrestling match against Geno Petriashvili, the young wrestler slammed Geno that almost got him a four point throw. But, the Georgian fought back with two swift moves.
Within the last ten seconds, Steveson turned the game around with two spin-behind takedowns. The second one came in just in time for the buzzer, which put him in the victory position.

5. Brock Lesnar Directed Gable Steveson to WWE

While Steveson made most of the decision, keeping in mind what’s best for him, he still wanted to know what Brock Lesnar thought.
Considering the huge influence Lesnar is, Steveson sought Lesnar’s guidance, which helped him make the decision to sign with WWE before moving to any other sport or promotion.
