“RIP General,” “Fly High Comrade”, – Fans in Shock as the Wrestling World and WWE Faces Yet Another Black Day With the Passing of 84-Year-Old Legend

Tragedy has struck the wrestling world once again. The wrestling community hasn’t even come out of the grief of losing WWE legends Terry Funk and Bray Wyatt yet, and another devastating news has hit the WWE Universe. Another WWE legend passed away recently. Former WWF announcer Ken Resnick informed on September 6th, 2023 that Adnan Al-Kaissie passed away at the age of 84. The cause of death is still unknown.

Adnan Al-Kaissie was one of the top stars in the promotion in the 80s. He was primarily famous for his time in the Triangle of Terror, where he aligned himself with Sgt. Slaughter as a manager and later The Iron Sheik, and feuded against Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior in a pro-Iraqi gimmick.

But before meeting legends like ‘The Hulkster’ and The Ultimate Warrior’, he set foot inside the ring against André the Giant and even defeated him.

Adnan Al-Kaissie was the first person to defeat Andre the Giant

André the Giant was a one-of-a-kind wrestler in the industry. To defeat the 7’4 pound of human flesh and blood was not an easy task. Therefore, when WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan got a big win against him in ’87, it sent shockwaves through the WWE Universe. But did you know Adnan Al-Kaissie had already accomplished what Hogan did in 1987?

16 years before, Hogan’s grand victory against Andre the Giant at WrestleMania III, Adnan Al-Kaissie defeated him at Al-Shaab Stadium in Baghdad, Iraq, in 1971. In fact, he was one of the very first wrestlers to defeat what the wrestling world calls “the Eighth Wonder of the World.”

To lose a gem like him has sunken the wrestling fans in a pit of grief and despair. The fans are upset about losing a true legend like him.

The news of Adnan Al-Kaissie’s demise has left the wrestling community devastated and heartbroken. Fans gathered together on Twitter to pay their homage to the deceased WWE legend. Here are some of the comments.

This year has been a dark one for the wrestling community, as it has lost so many legends this year. Bray Wyatt, Terry Funk, Iron Sheik, Superstar Billy Graham, Bushwhacker Butch, and Jerry Jarrett; all these legends left us this year in August, August, July, May, April, and February respectively.

It feels like the wrestling world has been cursed. Losing such exceptional talents has been very hard for the wrestling industry. We pray for Adnan Al-Kaissie and all the departed souls and hope that this is the last tragic news we get to hear this year.
