The WrestleMania edition of SmackDown was one of the strongest shows of the blue brand in recent memory. In one of the biggest upsets, Jey Uso won the 2021 André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. But did he need that win considering the other deserving superstars in the match?

The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal had all the underutilized talent in WWE. Among all, the final four except Jey Uso could have also been great choices as the winner. King Corbin has done nothing great for a long time now and him winning the Battle Royal twice would’ve been a nice story to play out in the coming weeks.
WWE’s Resident Superhero, Ricochet, could’ve been another good choice to be the winner. The ‘One and Only’ has had a forgettable year. All he’s done is the feud with The Hurt Business last year and making him the winner today would’ve brought him on the roadmap again.

Ali, what do we even say about him? The man was set to challenge for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35, but injuries put him on the sidelines. Now, he’s trying his best to find his footing in WWE, and a win tonight would’ve been the perfect boost of momentum for him.
Last but not the least, Shinsuke Nakamura. ‘The King of Strong Style’ seemed like getting back into the fold of relevancy when he stepped up to Cesaro. Unfortunately, his role was only limited until the ‘Swiss Superman’ could make his comeback. Nakamura is a former Royal Rumble winner, so him winning the Battle Royal would only add more prestige to it.

There were other interesting prospects, too! Superstars like Murphy and Angel Garza come to mind immediately when thinking about more names.
Either way, we’re not saying Jey Uso is a bad choice. All we’re saying is there were others who could’ve benefitted more. After all, Uso has become the ‘Main Event’ since aligning himself with the ‘Tribal Chief.’
