However, one question fans were asking was who will face Gunther at WrestleMania 40. While fans do have an answer for that now, it looks like a botch might change everything for Sami Zayn.

A botch by Sami Zayn & Chad Gable could have major implications

On the 03/11 episode of Monday Night Raw, the former lucha libre locked horns with Gable and a few other stars, including Ricochet, Bronson Reed, JD McDonagh, & Shinsuke Nakamura. While the ring was full of stars, the last two men standing in the ring were a fasting Zayn and the former Olympic wrestler.

The match showed the sportsmanship of both Gable and Zayn. In the end, Zayn could pin Gable and secure his ticket to WrestleMania 40. However, this is where the actual problem started. Soon after the show stopped airing, fans noticed a botch that changed the trajectory of the complete match.

The botch in question is that Gable’s shoulders were not touching the mat when Zayn pinned him and instead, his neck was touching the mat. This means that the former Intercontinental champion’s win is now in trouble since technically it isn’t a win.

Fans want a rematch after wonky ending

The reaction of fans after the botch was noticed has been pretty wild. It ranges from a rematch to a triple-threat match to a few fans stating why the botch might have happened in the first place. One fan pointed out that the best way for WWE to move forward will be to organize a rematch between Zayn and Gable to decide who will get to face Gunther.

Another fan pointed out that Gable has been robbed of a golden opportunity once again. The fan mentioned that the star has the potential to be the next Kurt Angle. However, he is yet to receive the right opportunity.

A couple of fans over the internet want something else. They believe to make the story even more interesting, WWE should organize a triple-threat match at WrestleMania XL.

However, a couple of fans had different opinions. While one fan pointed out that the referee’s decision is always final, another stated that Sami Zayn will end up becoming a third wheelin the triple-threat match.
