Angle said. “Well, this is what Rob did. You go to Rob and say, ‘Hey Rob we have a match tonight’. He’d say, ‘Okay. Give me five minutes’. He would go outside and smoke for five minutes, get high as a kite, and then come back in and he was full of ideas.”

He added, “It’s like beforehand he had nothing to give, but he went out there and smoked outside… he had like million ideas. It was just incredible. So Rob was better high that he was sober.”

It is no secret that RVD was a unique wrestler and is an inspiration for many regarding his in-ring work. However, Kurt Angle revealed the secret of Mr. Monday Night doing all those unimaginable spots back in the day when few dared to do it.

Nevertheless, RVD had a distinguished career spanning several promotions, namely ECW, WWE, TNA, etc. In 2021, WWE announced he would go into the WWE Hall of Fame. However, similar there might be several more hilarious stories regarding the former WWE Champion that other stars haven’t revealed yet. So how exactly did the feud between Angle and RVD turn out?

Angle didn’t have a long feud with RVD

After sharing this hilarious story, the Olympic hero shed a light on never having a long program with Van Dam. Moreover, he also called the ECW original’s mic skills to be underrated.

Angle said, “He is very underrated from a promo standpoint. He’s articulate, he does it in his own way like whole, ‘Hey dude, I don’t really care dude.’ But he’s actually surprisingly good at that. I would have loved to have a program, a long program with him. That would’ve been my favorite program I think.”

The 54-year-old WWE legend has a point and even the wrestling fans would have loved to see a long program between these two.
