It’s been a few days since the world of Sports Entertainment bid goodbye to its living legend, The Undertaker. Yet, the retirement seems surreal. From the appearance of legends to his final address and finally Paul Bearer’s hologram, ‘The Deadman‘ is still here with us.

On the latest episode of The Bump, JBL was a special guest. He is one of the few people who had the privilege of working with the Taker in multiple matches and being his friend outside the ring. He was one of the legends who appeared during the Final Farewell at Survivor Series.

On the show, JBL spoke about his experience at the PPV. Like many fans, he is also having a hard time believing that ‘The Phenom’ has officially retired.

“It was surreal. The Undertaker to me is a guy that you never think is going to retire. He is The Undertaker; he’s a deadman,” JBL started. “He is everything you want in a professional, and it’s hard to believe that was the final farewell. After all these years, thirty-something years, I don’t think there’s even been a run that would be equal to that in anything.”

The Undertaker will be incomparable through sports

JBL further said how this run would be incomparable throughout sports and entertainment.

“You don’t see (Arnold) Schwarzenegger do movies for thirty straight years and week after week, month after month and be the number one action figure in the world, movie star in the world.

“You don’t see Cal Ripken play for thirty years and be an all-star at every one of those years. I don’t think we will ever see anything in sports or entertainment again,” JBL concluded.

The Undertaker also praised the rivalry between Eddie Guerrero and JBL. JBL said hearing praise from Undertaker was like, “Michaelangelo saying you’re pretty good at carving stone.”

JBL also said he fought his first live match against the ‘Deadman.’ It was a custom back in the day “if you did good with the Undertaker, you stayed, and if you didn’t, you’re gone.”
