The art of wrestling doesn’t come easily to every wrestler on the planet. As for Bret Hart and the Undertaker, we can call them the masters of the wrestling business. Few Superstars come close to touching their level and put on masterpieces on par with the ones they created.
Bret Hart praises the Undertaker
Hart and the Deadman crossed paths frequently in the 1990s, and their title matches were legendary. They first met at Survivor Series 1990, in the match Undertaker announced himself to the WWE Universe. Although they interacted little, Taker vs Hart became a match many wanted to see.

During a virtual meet and greet with the Asylum Wrestling Store, Hart heaped praise on one of his finest opponents.

“Undertaker, he was always such a pro. Undertaker was one of the just all-time greatest pros in the ring. He never screws up a spot, he never messes up. He’s always a guy that just had impeccable timing and was a guy that always protected the guys that he worked with. He was one of my favorite all-time workers of all-time, Undertaker.”
Bret Hart vs The Undertaker’s rivalry
Undertaker faced Hart for the WWF Championship at the 1996 Royal Rumble. Unfortunately, Hart’s former bitter rival cost the Deadman the match, which led to him facing Taker at WrestleMania. As for Hart, he lost the title to the Rumble winner Shawn Michaels in sudden death after their sixty-minute Iron Man classic.
Taker and Hart would then meet in 1997 in a four-way match also involving Vader and Stone Cold Steve Austin. This time, Hart and Austin were bitter rivals, and Vader and Taker were extras in this match. Despite their differences, Austin helped Hart retain the title by pinning Taker.

Hart and Taker’s last two matches came at SummerSlam 1997 and One Night Only, respectively. However, only one match is remembered for being a classic.
At SummerSlam, Hart’s arch-nemesis Shawn Michaels played the role of special guest referee. HBK cost Taker the championship, which led to him facing Taker in the first ever Hell in a Cell match.

Taker and HBK put on a five-star Hell in a Cell match, but Kane’s interference gave HBK the win and the right to challenge for the WWF Championship. HBK and Bret Hart faced off at Survivor Series 1997 for the title, and that’s when the infamous Montreal Screwjob took place.
