CM Punk and controversy are often intertwined. After the infamous All Out incident, Punk made his controversial return to AEW’s new show, Collision. Although it’s been almost a year since the All Out backstage brawl, Punk remembers it like it was yesterday. In fact, he often takes jabs at the Elite and sparks a reaction. On the latest edition of Collision, Punk took aim at his alleged real-life foe, Adam Page.

In case you’ve forgotten, Punk has been at odds with Adam Page since their match last year. Page got under Punk’s skin after a promo on AEW Dynamite and Punk took matters into his own hands after the All Out PPV last year. Though there have been no jabs taken since then, after Collision went off the air this Saturday, Punk revisited the unresolved issues between the duo.

The latest edition of Collision saw CMFTR vying for the AEW World Trios Championship in a very physical match against the House of Black. Although Punk and FTR failed to capture the titles, the match was nothing short of spectacular. However, after Collision went off the air, Punk dropped another heated pipebomb.

Punk mentioned that he finally understood the reason behind Adam Page’s nickname, as Hangman. In his view, Page struggles to promote and sell his own action figures in toy stores, as they are left hanging in the stores. On the other hand, Punk claimed that he contributes to boosting ratings, moving merchandise, and successfully selling toys.

He said, “Look at this ‘Carolina is Hangman Country’… Earlier today I went to a local supermarket and I figured out why they call him Hangman. It’s because the pegs in the toy aisle are full of Hangman action figures because nobody wants to buy them. He’s a peg warmer, unlike me who moves merchandise, and pops ratings and sells toys.”

At this point, we will have to wait and see if Adam Page responds to the “Real World Champion”. We don’t know if this will lead to a rematch between the two, but it may evoke a reaction.

CM Punk was viciously attacked by Samoa Joe during the main event. With All In fast approaching, Samoa Joe could face the Straight Edge Star at Wembley Stadium in The UK. Anyway, a lot remains to be seen.

Does CM Punk’s recent jab at Adam Page portend a rematch?

The Elite recently extended their deal with Tony Khan’s company. However, they have yet to make their appearance on AEW’s third show, Collision. The fact that they haven’t made their presence felt on the show indicates that Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, and Adam Page are still in conflict with CM Punk.

After what happened when Collision went off the air, Page would be tempted to respond to Punk. Moreover, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler (FTR) are slated to compete with the Young Bucks at All In with AEW World Tag Team Championship at stake.

We will have to wait and see if CM Punk gets involved in the match. One thing is for sure, though, if AEW converts CM Punk’s real-life feud with The Elite into a storyline, it would be one of the hottest acts in AEW.
