Ever since Cody Rhodes returned to the WWE at WrestleMania 38, he’s been on a mission. This was not only to be the best version of himself but also to help others. After playing a key part in establishing a rival promotion, Rhodes has been putting stars over in AEW and WWE. However, despite returning to Vince’s Playground, Rhodes is still putting over AEW stars.

Recently, Rhodes commented on the prospect of the current AEW Champion plying his trade in the Stamford-based promotion. Despite working for the WWE, his words did not reflect the animosity between the two companies.

While Rhodes was on the YESNetwork’s The Michael Kay Show, he talked about seeing MJF in the WWE. Rhodes claimed that he would love to see it, as the AEW star would thrive in the company. These positive words didn’t go unheard as MJF acknowledged the statement and gave his reaction.

MJF featured on the Episode 474 of SportsIllustrated and gave his opinion on this. He said, “In Cody Rhodes’ mind and opinion, that was his way of putting over a friend, a prodigy, a former coworker, former protege.” Rhodes has been a mentor and the person who recruited MJF to AEW. This line shows the respect MJF has for his former co-worker.

Rhodes did a lot for the pro wrestling business by creating AEW after leaving the WWE. This not only brought a breath of fresh air to the industry but also gave released wrestlers a new home.
