The beloved Hollywood star Dwayne Johnson is facing a backlash from fans for his attempts to promote Black Adam. The criticism started when he called the DC Extended Universe “The Black Adam DC Universe”. It seems since that comment, The Rock has become a real-life anti-hero like Black Adam for the diehard DC fanbase.

On top of that, the former WWE champion recently shared a post on Instagram in which he gave his views on the future of DCEU.

In the post, Dwayne Johnson reflected on the fact that fans are important and should be respected. He wrote, “New ERA.New BLOOD. DISRUPT the DC UNIVERSE. RESPECT the FANS.”

The Great One highlighted that Black Adam is a new direction for DCEU. DJ is bringing a new concept that in this new generation of DC, anti-heroes would also be loved by the fans.

Further, he added Seven Bucks Production now has the opportunity to produce Black Adam. They look forward to making this movie a part of DCEU storytelling with no disruption.

If you are unaware, the criticism started when Johnson shared an Instagram post a couple of days ago. In the post, he mentioned the post-credit scene of his recent DC movie DC League of Super Pets in which Black Adam makes an appearance. But, it didn’t sit well with DC fans when the former WWE superstar called the DC Extended Universe “The Black Adam DC Universe”.

That specific line made the hardcore DC fans erupt on social media. Also, in the recent light of events, Warner Bros cancelled all the plans for Batgirl, which was very popular among the fandom. Therefore, the DC aficionados made claims that DJ is trying to take over the DCEU.

Is Dwayne Johnson hinting at Henry Cavill returning as Superman in Black Adam?

A few days ago, at San Diego Comic Con 2022, a fan asked the lately most discussed DC question to Dwayne Johnson. The question was, “Who is the stronger- Black Adam or Superman?” The Jumanji actor stumbled to answer at first, but he replied to the fan with a strategic answer.

Host Brandon Davis shared the video on his Twitter in which The Rock said, “Pound for pound, they are pretty close. I guess that probably all depends on who is playing Superman and I’m just gonna say that. I’ll leave at that and we’ll just go that way.”

Previously, there were rumors floating about actor Henry Cavill reprising the role of Superman in Black Adam. Also, it seems DJ wants Cavill to play Superman if Black Adam vs Superman movie is ever in talks. With Seven Bucks Production being one of the producers, Johnson can ask DC and Warner Bros. to offer Henry Cavill a return.

DCEU showed Superman in ‘Shazam’ in the end credits, but a stunt double played it. However, seeing the way DJ is praising Cavill for his role as Superman, there is a high possibility we could have a cameo of the Last Son of Krypton in Black Adam.
