Hulk Hogan Admits He Isn’t the Greatest of All Time But Ranks Himself Higher Than WWE Legend Stone Cold Steve Austin

It goes without saying that Hulk Hogan is the hallmark of wrestling. In many ways, the Hulkster made pro wrestling into the spectacle it is today. He not only helped make WWE popular, but was also responsible for the rise of WCW. The Monday Night Wars might have never started if Hogan had not defected to WCW. He has represented wrestling for decades now, but he still does not think that he is the greatest of all time.

Hogan has never been reserved about admitting his place amongst the most influential wrestlers in history. So much so that he even thinks that he has ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin beat. However, there is one wrestler he thinks tops both himself and Austin in the ranks of the ‘Greatest of all Time’ This wrestler is ‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair.

Hogan recently shared a video on his Facebook account in which he was enjoying himself at his bar along with Ric Flair. The Hulkster in his classic Hogan style spoke a few words regarding who he thought was the greatest of all time. He asked the crowd in attendance to chant “Woo” with him to honor Flair.

Hulk repeated several times that Flair is the greatest wrestler of all time. Additionally, Hogan pointed out that he was in second place after Flair. Hogan, being an entertainer at heart, then teased Stone Cold Steve Austin to be at the third place below him and Flair, much to the crowd’s amusement.

The two-time WWE Hall of Famer debuted in WWE in 1979. Since then, he became the biggest draw for the company for many years. Hulk Hogan became synonymous with WWE in the 1980s and early 90s. He was the face of WWE and he was able to introduce WWE to a global mainstream audience. He soon became a household name.

Citing creative differences in the 90s, Hogan left WWE. WWE pushed newer talent and an edgier product that did not fit Hogan’s style. Hogan still landed on his feet by joining WCW and soon formed the legendary NWO faction with Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. The Attitude Era was WWE’s masterstroke to win the war against WCW.

There is no debating that when one thinks of the Attitude Era, one thinks of Stone Cold Steve Austin. Austin played a key role in WWE’s victory in the Monday Night Wars. Austin remains one of the most iconic and popular WWE Superstars of all time. The decision regarding who is the greatest of all time still remains at the discretion of each fan of wrestling.
