John Cena and Nikki Bella were among the power couples of WWE before they broke up in 2018. Fans were in love with them. In 2017, after five years of relationship, Cena finally asked Nicole to marry him. But a year after being engaged, the couple broke up. 

Both were going through a tough time during their breakup period. However, even after parting ways, both superstars keep on showing respect for each other. But there was a time when John Cena appeared in a show, a few months after breaking up with Nikki. There, his statement about his and Nikki’s relationship left Nikki in a dilemma. 

A few years ago, John Cena appeared in a show named ‘Today’. There, the hosts asked him about his relationship and break-up with Nikki Bella. To this John replied that it was a difficult time for him as he was supposed to be married to Nikki and have a family by now. That didn’t fit well with Nikki as the couple broke up because Cena didn’t want kids.

She also discussed it with her twin sister Brie, saying that she and Cena parted ways after a mutual discussion and it was pretty much clear. But seeing him saying different things in the interview is confusing to her.

While talking to Brie, Nikki said, “It’s kinda confusing right now watching John’s interview on Today show because you know last we talked like that pretty much was it like if I want to be a mom there’s no John……I mean he says we haven’t jumped ship yet I don’t know what that means but it’s also like I don’t even know where I stand”

She even mentioned that she loved Cena, but it was too hard to choose between him and her wish of being a mother.

John and Nikki broke up, as Nikki wanted to be a mother, but Cena was never ready to be a parent. Initially, they both tried to sort things out, but later, both separate their ways with a mutual decision. 

If we take a look at the current scenario, then John Cena got married to Shay Shriatzadeh in 2020. And Nikki tied the knot with Artem Chingvintsev last year. She even has a kid with her husband. However, for John, it seems like he is still not ready to be a father.
