“It Just Made Me Sick” – WWE SmackDown Sensation Bianca Belair Opens Up on Her Battle With Depression

Bianca Belair calls herself the EST of WWE, and there is no one like her on the entire roster. She is a powerful athlete and has some immaculate wrestling prowess. But there was a time when this top-notch athlete had to fight her own demons.

Bianca Belair talks about her battle with Depression/Bulimia

In an excerpt from her WWE Chronicle documentary, Bianca Belair talks about how she fought bulimia in high school and beyond. Belair shared that she was the biggest girl in track and her school. Not just that, but she was very muscular and fast.

Somehow, she couldn’t keep up her top performance and believed losing weight would help her in running faster. Belair got so obsessed with it that she began purging.

No one knew about this, not even her parents. This continued for a while until she hurt herself, after which she couldn’t complete her senior year in high school.

The ‘EST of WWE‘ got a full scholarship to the University of South Carolina, but little did she know this was another phase of her life. Belair became a different person from high school when she went to University. This time, she developed a binge eating disorder that kept adding to her previous issues.

She said, “I would just be eating because I’m upset and just eat my feelings away. And I became so obsessed with food that I just want to eat everything to the point where it just made me sick.”

Bianca reached out for help and even got on medication, but it didn’t last long. She transferred herself to another college and stopped her medication. Prescribed medication for mental health should not be stopped without consultation. She did exactly that.

Stopping the medication had its adverse effects as Bianca ended up in a psychiatric hospital. The time she saw her parents see her through all this in the hospital made her believe things would get better. Them being there for her made her feel very safe and rightly so.

Bianca Belair is a true warrior. She fought depression like a champion, and the support of her parents and her will made it happen. Depression is real, but it cannot take the greatness away from anybody. Look where Bianca Belair is today!
