“It’s Good and Bad” – Gable Steveson Reacts on Comparisons to WWE Legends Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle

Olympic gold medalist in amateur wrestling, Gable Steveson has signed a full-time contract with WWE to fight on the Red brand of the company.

The 21-year-old has already earned quite a reputation amongst his peers and the WWE Universe. The WWE Universe often compares Steveson with the WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle, and the longest-reigning Universal Champion, The Beast’ Brock Lesnar.

Steveson has struck gold since literally winning the Gold Medal for his country at the Tokyo Olympics, which was as dramatic as Kurt Angle winning the medal with a broken neck back in the ’96 Olympics.

The Olympian appeared on the latest episode of WWE’ ‘After The Bell‘ podcast alongside WWE commentator, Corey Graves, where Steveson what he thinks when the fans compare him with Angle and Lesnar.

Speaking on the podcast, the NCAA Champion addressed the fact that the fans compare him with Kurt Angle because of his dramatic last-second gold medal win at the Tokyo Olympics.

“It’s fine, I mean, I don’t mind the pressure. People compare me to Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar and stuff like that, it’s actually really cool. I mean, Kurt Angle’s a legend, Brock’s a legend. They’re gonna be Hall of Famers at the end of the day. So to be compared to those guys is something crazy, but I mean, it’s good and bad,” he said.

However, Gable also wants to fill in his shoes and justify all the pressure the WWE Universe is putting on him even before his WWE debut.

Eventually, Steveson admitted he wants and will try to surpass the accolades of the WWE Hall of Famer and ink a fresh memory into the minds of the WWE Universe, and at 21 years of age, this all seems possible for the young athlete.

Steveson is yet to make his debut for Vince McMahon’s company; however, knowing that the gold winner will wrestle on Monday Night Raw seems like an excellent choice for the young one.
