Dwayne Johnson is one of the biggest entrepreneurs and highest-paid actors in the entire world. Not only does the man own multiple brands, but his Teremana Tequila was the best-selling spirit. And his acting career has never reached a bigger height as well. Partnering with DC to expand the DCEU, Johnson has already promised many projects after the release of Black Adam.

Even his Seven Bucks Production company is onwards and upwards. In addition to doing movies with DC, Johnson also has a number of action movies coming out in the next two years. Nothing can stop this former WWE Champion, but his father was a different man in his prime. While he was great in the ’80s, at the end of his life, Johnson was just a truck driver, making this a bitter reminder of the cruelty of the wrestling industry.

Veteran wrestling legend talks about the father of Dwayne Johnson, Rocky Johnson’s money condition

While talking about Rocky Johnson’s financial condition in the ’80s, former WWE manager, Dutch Mantell, gave the reason for Johnson’s issues with money. He said, “Well, let’s say you make 150,000. You’re going to pay a lot of that back to taxes. So let’s say 40 grand off that leaves him 110. And he’s got to travel, and you got to do this, you got to do that. And say he can save 30 or 40,000 a year, let’s say after 10 years, that’s 300,000 or 400,000 saved.

But say all of a sudden you hit a spell that you don’t have any work, and then that 300,000 goes down to 250, and then it goes down to 200, and so it’s not inconceivable that Rocky spent his money just to live. And, you know, once you get used to a certain standard of living, you don’t want to go below that. And it’s not inconceivable. But yeah, he spent his money just because there was like from 1990 to now unless you had a steady job, and I don’t think Rocky had that.”

Mantell goes on to say a lot of things about Rocky Johnson’s wallet and the misconceptions that people had about him. This would also create barriers between the son and father. When Dwayne Johnson was on the rise in WWE, his father would accompany him. When the legend died, Johnson revealed a lot about their bond during his last few years.
