WWE’s Jey Uso can no longer use the recent audience favorite word from his mouth, “yeet.” Apparently, some copyright infringement issues will bar the Samoan wrestling superstar from using the fun catchphrase anymore. While everyone has been wanting to find out what happened ever since, a new social media post carries all the answers.
Wrestle Ops recently tweeted the real reason and the person responsible for robbing Jey Uso of his celebratory word. The tweet carried the caption, “Kasey Huffman, a pro-wrestler out of West Virginia, has owned the trademark to the word “Yeet” since 2021.” It seems that Huffman is pretty serious about his one-word catchphrase and doesn’t want Jey Uso to have any part of it.

The celebration chants for WWE Superstar Jey Uso from the crowd heavily feature his latest one-word catchphrase, ‘yeet’. The word even got itself embossed on his clothing as the former Bloodline member walked into the arena. However, this will now have to stop because of an unexpected copyright infringement.

This resulted in the latest episode of RAW blurring the “yeet” graphic on Jey Uso’s torso and cutting down audience noise whenever “yeet” chants erupted. A social media post has revealed the identity of the wrestler, who has already been rolling in the independent circuit with the word ‘yeet’ as his own.
The tweet further mentioned, “As was revealed last night that WWE found trademark issues with Jey Uso’s “Yeet” & the word & merchandising will no longer be associated with him going forward.” With this, a fun catchphrase has now been stolen from Jey Uso, almost as soon as his latest reign as an undisputed WWE Tag Team Champion alongside Cody Rhodes.

Interestingly, Jey Uso started using the word “yeet” during a post-show press conference. Since then, the catchphrase became synonymous with Jey Uso and helped him get more over with the crowd. But now it looks like he will have to stop yeeting
The history of Jey Uso, Cody Rhodes, and “yeet”
Jey Uso first used the word “yeet” in a press conference right after he earned the Undisputed Tag Titles at Fastlane. Jey Uso didn’t even mean to use the word as a catchphrase at the time. In fact, he was just too drunk after celebrating his win to say anything more comprehensible.

Because of this, Cody Rhodes handled most of the interview, but he wasn’t very sober either. This resulted in him letting out a “yeet” as well. This turned into a really wholesome moment for the media as well, who joined in on the laughter and the fun.
The series of yeets didn’t stop, as Triple H joined the press conference later on. Before making an opening statement or taking any questions, The Game also let out a “yeet”. The fun banter back then didn’t see the trio monetizing the catchphrase in future, but the word got stuck with the audience and became insanely popular.
