The move is unusual considering the nature of the platform and his association with kids through WWE. He is also the most demanded celebrities on the Make-A-Wish foundation. But the move isn’t rare in Hollywood as celebrities like Cardi B have previously taken the same route to promote their projects. So, it can be considered as a bold move to promote the movie which will be available on Amazon Prime from March 7th. However, Cena has created the account in the name of the character, thus saving himself from the brunt of fans. Besides Cena, it features Zac Efron and Jermaine Fowler.

Directed by Peter Farrelly of The Three Stooges and Dumb and Dumber, the plot revolves around three friends who use the name of an imaginary friend, Ricky Stanicky to cover their mishaps. The plot turns into a comedic drama around confusion and lies when they hire John Cena to play the imaginary friend.

John Cena proves why he is a marketing genius

Notorious for treating his official Instagram account as trash, Cena’s Instagram account has turned into a meme dumpster. However, fans have noticed a strange pattern on the posts. The GOAT often subtly promotes his projects through his posts.

There were a few posts from the franchise Fast & Furious, hinting at his involvement in the franchise. He similarly promoted his show Wipeout by uploading a series of pictures. He also uploaded a picture of a frame from DC of Peacemaker, hinting at his work as Peacemaker. On one instance he was even spotted casually wearing it while hanging outside. Hence, Cena can be considered as a promotion genius who has learned the art of subtle marketing.
