Keith Lee has shocked the whole world on the latest edition of NXT. This announcement has come just two weeks after Keith Lee created history.

A month back, Lee defeated Balor and Gargano, defending his North American title. This made him eligible to challenge NXT champion Adam Cole in a winner takes all.

During the buildup to the match, Keith Lee suffered a major setback. Lee was mourning the loss of ‘Killer’ Tim Brooks, his trainer who was very close to him.

At NXT: The Great American Bash, both Superstars gave everything they had. The limitless one went beyond all limits and defeated Adam Cole, ending his 403- day championship reign.

Keith Lee became the NXT and NXT North American champion. He promised to be a fighting champion and last week, defeated Dominik Dijakovic and defended his NXT championship.

Keith Lee opens NXT with a major announcement

This recent edition of NXT was opened by William Regal who said Keith Lee would like to make an announcement. The limitless one spoke about how he felt after becoming the NXT Champion and NXT North American Champion, by defeating Adam Cole in the historic “Winner Takes All” match last month.

Lee said while he will continue to be a fighting champion, he wanted everyone to have the same opportunities that he has. That is why he is relinquishing the North American Title.

NXT General Manager William Regal then announced that a series of Triple Threats will be scheduled. The winners will then go on to participate in a Ladder Match to crown the new NXT North American Champion at NXT “Takeover: XXX” on Saturday, August 22.

Keith Lee took to his Twitter to express how he was proud of his achievement. He also expressed that the betterment of NXT is more important than his personal achievement.

A series of triple threat matches will give many young superstars the opportunity to take that next step towards realizing their potential.

However, one definitely cannot forget the second longest reigning NXT champion and former Universal Champion Finn Balor.

As for Keith Lee, after relinquishing the NXT North American championship, he can set his sights on one thing clearly without any distraction. The limitless one will now focus on defending his NXT title against the dangerous and upcoming Karrion Kross.
