LA Knight is one of the greatest WWE stars in the current era. With his recent win against Bloodline, he has further cemented his name at the promotion. However, with praise comes criticism. Recently the star has been criticized by a WWE veteran for his time here at WWE. But despite all the reproval from the star of the former years, Knight still thinks that one of the greatest eras of WWE, the Attitude Era has made him who he is today.
LA Knight on Attitude Era’s influence on him
Talking with Breakfast Television, Shaun Ricker aka LA Knight told why the Attitude Era holds importance for him. He said, “ I’m definitely 100 percent influenced, that was my bread and butter when I was in high school.” openly admitting to the fact that the era played a huge role in his career. He then said, “That was one of the best eras of wrestling, it was exciting.” showcasing his inner WWE fan unapologetically.

But he further said that it had to be done methodically. “I’m not gonna take everything from that, I’ve still got to be today and I’ve still got to be now.” He further added, “Am I a little bit of the past? Sure. Am I a little bit of the present? Sure. Am I everything in between? Absolutely.” He concluded by saying, “For me, it’s kind of bringing that into now … it’s so ingrained in me that it’s just me at this point, I have no choice” This showed that the star can’t run away from the Attitude Era’s influence.
The interview by Knight surely showed how much he adores and looks up to the veterans. But WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash was found criticizing him.

Nash called LA Knight a Rock ripoff
These were the words of WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash. On an episode of Kliq This podcast, he openly said that he believes the 40-year-old star to be a “ripoff” of The Rock. Nash said that the way Knight cuts the promos and everything is heavily influenced by The Rock. He further stated that he has never seen him fight and that’s why he has never noticed him much.

Knight has been climbing the ranks at WWE since his debut in 2021. He was a part of the NXT and then debuted in SmackDown as Max Dupri with the Maximum Male Models. After they parted ways, he rebranded himself as LA Knight and has been on the rise at WWE The star was even praised by The Leader of the Cenation, John Cena.
