WWE Friday Night SmackDown of this week emanating from Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California just went off the air, paving the road to WWE’s next PLE Fastlane. The blue brand shows are all but jejune. Keeping pace with that trend, this week’s showdown also produced nothing short of a banger. Despite John Cena’s upsetting absence at the initial segments, the other advertised and non-advertised matches crowded out the void to some extent.

Bloodline heavyweights including Paul Heyman, Solo Sikoa, and Jimmy Uso kicked off SmackDown. After lauding the Tribal Chief as his usual ritual and humiliating Cena, Heyman, and Uso prompted Karl Anderson to step up in the ring only to be leveled by Uso after a quick brawl. Anderson had come out to avenge the attack on Styles last week only to be victimized by The Bloodline.

Winner: Jimmy Uso

Jimmy Uso’s nonsense came to a stop with a slap from Mia Yim

Mia Yim slapped the taste out of an irritating Jimmy Uso’s mouth and put his backstage chaos to rest.

Grayson Waller geared up for the Grayson Waller effect

Then Grayson Waller turned up to introduce Bobby Lashley to the hot seat of the Grayson Waller effect and tried to sell him and Austin Theory as an undefeated team.

The Incredible Achievements of John Cena in WWE That Are Hard to Beat

The Street Profits made their spectacular entrance and got right away challenged by Lashley to prove themselves after last week’s defeat. Waller tried to interfere by bringing Theory out.

Austin Theory vs. Cameron Grimes

Austin Theory went one-on-one with Cameron Grimes. With Waller’s interference, Theory picked up a smooth win.

Winner: Austin Theory

Rey Mysterio vs Santos Escobar (United States Championship)

A perked-up Rey Mysterio defended his WWE United States Championship against his own stable mate Santos Escobar. Post the match, Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits interfered and laid out the LWO, advancing toward a six-man tag team match at Fastlane.

Winner: Rey Mysterio

Charlotte Flair vs. Bayley

The Queen set foot in the ring and won against Bayley in the aftermath of their last week’s affairs. Dejected Bayley, afterward, gave a nod to the triple threat match between IYO, Charlotte, and Asuka at Fast Lane, upsetting Sky in the process.

Winner: Charlotte Flair

John Cena appeared and has a partner for Fastlane!

John Cena finally made his appearance toward the end of the show and made it clear that he’s not going to back off from his Fastlane contract and can fight alone in a handicap match if needed.

The Bloodline arrived and after trading barbs for some time; they got into a brawl with Cena who found his savior in a returning LA Knight later on.

The duo laid Sikoa and Jimmy Uso out, and Cena found his sought-after partner for Fastlane. LA Knight signed the contract to make things official for Fastlane.
