Late WWE Hall of Famer Once Predicted Why a “Stud” Brock Lesnar Would Go On to Become a Major Star – “No Doubt”

Nobody can deny that Brock Lesnar is a once-in-a-lifetime athlete. Lesnar’s imposing presence alone is enough to strike fear into the hearts of men. The Beast Incarnate has carved out a legendary wrestling career. While there are many great wrestlers in the business, Brock Lesnar is simply incomparable. And his co-wrestlers would agree. Before Lesnar made his debut in the WWE, a certain Hall of Famer knew from the gate that Lesnar was going to be a major star. 

The Hall of Famer in question is none other than Mr. Perfect, Curt Hennig. If you are a recent wrestling fan, you should know that Brock and Curt were pals. Brock was trained to be a professional wrestler under the tutelage of Curt Hennig. That said, Curt Hennig once vouched for Brock Lesnar during the latter’s early days in wrestling. 

Curt Hennig knew that Brock Lesnar was going to be a force to be reckoned with

Curt Hennig and Brock Lesnar first met in 2000. At the time, Brock Lesnar performed in WWE’s developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling. The former WWE Champion was introduced as “The Next Big Thing” right from his debut on Raw. But before Lesnar geared up to make his main roster debut, Hennig had a hunch that Lesnar was going to be a major star. 

During an interview in the year 2000, Curt Hennig stated, “I think he’s going to do great. He’s got a great attitude, he’s a stud, and he learns fast. He’s had popularity here in Minnesota. He’s the first national champion in 50 years at heavyweight, so it’s a big deal in Minnesota. He has the right frame of mind and mindset to be a major star and force in the WWF, no doubt.”

One of WWE’s most infamous stories comes from the “Plane Ride From Hell”. The incidents depicted in the documentary perceivably besmirched the names of some wrestlers who were on the plane. Brock Lesnar and Curt Hennig, perhaps, had the flight attendants and pilots praying for their lives. 

While traveling, an inebriated Curt Hennig splattered shaving cream on Brock Lesnar’s head, provoking the latter to go after him. When Lesnar got his hands on Hennig, the two destroyed everything in their surroundings while engaging in a violent shoot-wrestling match near the emergency exit door.

Ultimately, Paul Heyman had to intervene and break it up. According to reports, Brock Lesnar wasn’t even castigated but Curt Hennig was sent packing. Sadly, the next year in 2003, Curt Hennig passed away. Much like Curt Hennig, another WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle once praised the 10-time World Champions personality.
