Deaths in the WWE are a sensitive matter. Being a family of millions worldwide, the WWE universe always comes together to mourn the loss of a WWE personnel. This past week, one WWE personality lost a very close family member right before WWE’s NXT episode. However, this did not stop them from performing their duties, including hyping up John Cena.

The personality in question is part of the announcer’s team and, despite a tragic loss, continued their job on NXT during the Tuesday Night War.

Vic Joseph is the lead announcer for WWE’s NXT. Joseph has been the announcer alongside Wade Barrett since 2020 before partnering up with Booker T. Taking to social media; he announced the heartbreaking news of his father’s passing.

Joseph posted on his X social media account, “Yesterday I lost my dad – my earliest memory was watching wrestling with him – he always supported my dreams and did to the end – last night was for him.” This took the fans by surprise.

While most people would call it a personal day and not show up for work, Joseph would continue his duties. As WWE’s NXT squared off against AEW’s Dynamite, Joseph would be there to announce the entire evening. This was a beautiful tribute to his father.

Talking about his father, Joseph mentioned that his fondest memory was watching wrestling with his father. This is where his passion comes from, and it was enough to impress Hall of Famer Booker T. Booker said, “Vic is definitely the reason I stay on point on that show. He directs me. He’s almost like a maestro sometimes, holding his hands, telling me to calm down.” Those are some high praises from the former King of the Ring.

The wrestling world united to convey their sorrow and offer their condolences to the WWE personality.

Despite losing his father, Joseph was present at the announce table for NXT. His passion was audible throughout the night, especially when John Cena made his NXT debut. The audience went wild when Cena’s music hit, even during the Carmelo Hayes and Cena vs. Bron Breakker with Paul Heyman match. Joseph was right there, calling everything that went on during the show.

Once fans heard of the tragic loss, they quickly sent in their condolences.

Natalya sent her condolences. She also praised him for still working despite the tragedy.

Fans started to pour in their condolences and prayers.

Fans made sure to tell Joseph what an incredible job he did and how proud his father would have been.

It’s moments like this that the entire WWE Universe unites to support families that suffer tragic losses.
