WWE Superstar Roman Reigns appreciated a former WWE superstar on his official Instagram account. Reigns claims he has had one of his best matches with this Superstar.

Reigns and Rusev, both had their career timelines in and around the same time but they worked in separate storylines. Both the young superstars joined WWE’s developmental in 2010.

In 2012, Reigns made an explosive debut causing chaos with The Shield. While Rusev went to FCW but made his debut at NXT one year later.

The year 2014 was the big year for both these young Superstars. The two of them were on a run destined for main event success.

In that year, Roman Reigns was just separated from The Shield after Seth Rollins betrayed the group. He went on a singles run and had an unthinkable year.

In his first year as a singles competitor, he won the Royal Rumble and main evented WrestleMania against Brock Lesnar for the WWE world heavyweight championship.

That same year, a young rookie protecting the pride of Russia with his manager was on the main roster. Rusev conquered the United States championship and was undefeated till WrestleMania 31.

Rusev and Lana’s momentum got squashed when his 146-day title run and the undefeated streak ended against John Cena.

Roman Reigns and Rusev, both are currently not in the WWE. Reigns is still under contract but is at home due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Rusev was released by WWE a few months ago due to the COVID-19 budget cuts. However, his wife Lana is still with the company. Her storyline relationship ended with Bobby Lashley and now she is the manager of Natalya.

Reigns’ return is eagerly awaited due to a lack of main event stars on the blue brand. However, Rusev is yet to see where he goes after this pandemic.
