“We were living in an efficiency that cost $120 a week. We come home, and there’s a padlock on the door and an eviction notice. My mom starts bawling. She just started crying and breaking down. ‘Where are we going to live? What are we going to do?’” recalled the WWE legend. 

It was around the same time that Johnson also turned to petty crimes and was often caught by the police, troubling Ata Johnson even more.

However, the young Johnson soon set his path straight and eventually led himself to greatness. He corrected himself because he did not want to see his mother suffer so much.
