“Punch This Kid in the Face”: While Commentating MMA Match, CM Punk Promotes His First-Ever WWE Match Since Returning

CM Punk was invited to the commentary team for episode #128 of Cage Fury Fighting Championship on December 15th where 10 fights took place. While Punk signed an exclusive deal with RAW, he managed time on Friday night to help with commentating on the match. Although CM Punk was present for a different purpose he continued promoting WWE.

CM Punk will take on Dirty Dom on December 30

It was announced by WrestleTix that Punk’s first match will take place at the famous Madison Square Garden on December 26th against Dominik Mysterio. In order to promote his match, he took the opportunity while commentating at CFFC. A clip was posted on X on December 15th where Punk could be heard promoting his upcoming match against Dominik Mysterio.

In the video, he says, “Yeah, listen ladies and gentlemen. If you’re out there on the 26th, you better go out and watch some grappling. Unless you’re in LA. Come out at the Kia forum. Watch me beat up Dirty Dominik. I’ve been wanting to punch this kid in the face ever since he was eight years old. Now he is legal and I’m gonna destroy him.

CM Punk was pleading the fans of combat wrestling to come witness his first match since his return. In order to advocate the match, he used the heat on Dominik Mysterio to his advantage. Since, WWE fans love to hate Dirty Dom, Punk promised to beat him up at MSG.

He further added a pinch of salt by reminding everyone of his moment with Dominik Mysterio when Dom was just eight years old. He built up the heat by reminding that Dom is not a minor anymore and hence he wouldn’t hesitate punching him this time.

CM Punk’s WWE Return Might Force AEW Out of TBS and TNT

Punk was also referring to his match against Rey Mysterio in 2010 during his earlier run in the WWE that started from WrestleMania 26. Back then, he cussed out an eight-year-old Dominik Mysterio. Now, the roles are reversed as Punk is a face and Dom is a heel. But, the match was not the only thing he promoted.

CM Punk provides his fans with late Christmas gift

In another segment of the commentary, Punk promoted his merchandise while sporting a beanie. He clarified that he was wearing a beanie because of the way his hair looked in the post-fight interview.

But then he took the opportunity to promote his merchandises from WWE. He said, “This has nothing to do with me trying to chill. These beanies and hats that are currently under production will be available at WWEshop.com by the end of the month. It is a little late Christmas present. You can probably google it, order it now. They will be available in all stores going forward.
