“Queen Elizabeth’s Passing Hits Even Close to Home”: WWE Legend Posts an Emotional Message Following the Queen’s Passing Away

Queen Elizabeth II passed away peacefully on 8th September 2022. She died at the age of 96, after reigning for 70 years. She passed away at her Scottish Estate. The Queen came to power in 1952 and was the supreme entity in the United Kingdom.
Her death brought in a lot of sadness to the people of the United Kingdom. Queen Elizabeth II’s death marked the end of a 70-year reign that experienced various changes and social movements. Several athletes from all over the world gave their tribute and paid respect to the Queen.

Among all such athletes were former and current WWE Stars. Former WWE Superstar Chris Jericho paid his respects to the late Queen of the United Kingdom.
Jericho posted on social media and gave an update on how the Queen was directly related to his childhood life. He also wrote about how sad it is when someone you knew all your life passes away. Jericho wrote on his Instagram post, “It’s always strangely sad when somebody famous that you literally knew of your whole life passes away, but #queenelizabeth’s passing hits even closer to home.”
Y2J also stated how they had to sing The United Kingdom’s National Anthem every day after school when growing up because of Canada being a part of the Commonwealth. He said he used to be annoyed by singing the song every day and how that small song would seem like an eternity to him.

Jericho further wrote, “I was quite annoyed with the old Queen on those days. But I also looked at the Queen every day on our money and saw her at every concert and @nhljets game, which was always a cool thing! ” The Lionheart then showed his gratitude and thanked the Queen for showing grace and character as a monarch, and also for ruling the Commonwealth fairly.

Former WWE Superstar and Divas Champion Paige also paid her respects to the late Queen. Paige belongs from England and is British. The passing away of the Queen made the former WWE Superstar very sad.

Alongside Paige, current WWE Commentator and British National Stu Bennet aka Wade Barrett also paid his respects to Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen left behind a great legacy, which can be cherished forever. Her reign lasted a long time and was one of the most impactful reigns of all time. She was beloved by many, and her death indeed left behind a sad patch.
