Injuries are a common occurrence in professional wrestling and could really put the wet blanket on a lot of career trajectories. WWE has seen its fair share of them over the months this year and it seems to have been burdened by another one.

Following the latest episode of SmackDown, WWE confirmed that one-half of the Street Profits, Montez Ford, had suffered an injury. To be more specific, “a partial rib fracture and torn intercostal cartilage”. The same was announced on the company’s social media handles.

On SmackDown, The Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins) found themselves in an altercation with Otis and Gable. According to the stipulations laid down by Gable, the match would be a one-on-one between him and Montez Ford while Angelo Dawkins would have to remain backstage to prevent interferences.

The Street Profits accepted and the match between the two began. Montez Ford and Gable traded blows while Otis had plans of his own. The giant, with a new clean-shaved look, assaulted Angelo Dawkins backstage to completely eliminate him from the situation.

He then headed back to the ring to Gable’s aid. Seeing his partner was on the losing side against Ford, Otis decided to end the contest by interference.

Montez Ford was crushed by Otis

The former Money in the Bank winner decimated Montez Ford and after a merciless display of aggression crushed him with his version of the Vader Bomb. This is probably the moment where Ford got injured since the entire body weight of Otis landed on his chest.

For reference, the area below is what troubled Montez Ford, as confirmed by WWE. The former SmackDown Tag Team Champion is being evaluated at a local medical center and updates will follow soon. We may see him out of action for a couple of weeks until he recovers fully.
