Following the TKO merger, WWE had to release many talents in September 2023. 7 months after the mass lay-off, WWE has once again fired multiple stars in a short amount of time as reports came out one after another. Jinder Mahal is one of the stars who won’t be seen in the promotion any longer.

Hours after his official release –a second time in his career– from the Stamford-based company, Mahal uploaded his first look. While he is not in the ring yet, Mahal can be seen rejuvenating and planning after the stressful news. The Canadian star took to Instagram to share a message for all his fans.

Following the announcement, the former WWE champion had taken to X to make his first comment. ‘I Quit. Maharaja Out,” he had written as his bio changed to ‘Free Agent – 90 Days,’ considering WWE’s non-competent clause that doesn’t allow him to wrestle for another company for 90 days. Now, more recently, Jinder Mahal uploaded a video of himself on his official Instagram handle, where we can see The Maharaja sitting in a pool, probably the one at his 3 known houses. The two-time WWE 24/7 Champion has his eyes closed and hands joined in an appearance of meditating and manifesting.

The ex-WWE star, further left a message in the caption that reads, “Reflect, Rebrand, Rebuild.” A caption hinting at his unwavering mind, steadfast, ready to tackle the challenges that lay ahead possibly in hopes of returning to the pro wrestling industry post the shock.

However, it won’t be the first time Mahal finds himself in the situation. The last time Mahal was released was back in 2014. “You cannot become complacent or comfortable. You can’t become lazy. Being released was one of the best things that ever happened to me. It sparked my passion and forced me to work harder,” he had said after the release. And the Modern Day Maharaj came back stronger to fulfil his lifelong goal of achieving the WWE Championship in 2017.

Having lived through the obstruction once, seems like a second process of ‘rebuilding and rebranding’ might not keep the 37-year-old out for long from his domain.

Mahal was released from WWE in a batch among other wrestlers: Xyon Quinn, Xia Li, Veer, Sanga. With much in the wind, speculations about his possible next move in the industry take rise.

The possibility that is the most out there following a WWE star’s release is AEW. There has been so much talent exchange to and fro between the two companies that fans started speculating about Jinder Mahal turning to All Elit as soon as he was out of the Stamford-based company. However, a trusted source has a different view of where he might end up soon.

There is a possibility that we might see Jinder Mahal show up in GCW or TNA before he finally signs with AEW. This is because he is already well-liked among wrestling fans, –highlighted by the response received upon his return in 2024– and has many connections in the pro wrestling industry. Do you believe Jinder Mahal’s comeback will be stronger than his last WWE run?
