It goes without saying that the WWE ThunderDome is nothing short of a grand success. The viewership for WWE was circling the 1.7 million mark until the arrival of the grand arena. ThunderDome’s debut has raked in a viewership of 2.168 million.

The WWE ThunderDome takes viewership experience to the next level

While some predicted The Dome will be a success, others said that this was another poor attempt by Vince McMahon to pull up the ratings. However, the ratings have proven that the new lavish structure is doing the desired job for the company.

The reason why it was predicted to be a success is because of the response it received upon its revelation. Fans and WWE Superstars reacted quite enthusiastically to the ThunderDome.

In fact, the traffic on the website was so huge at one point that it faced a crash. This speaks volumes about how much fans want to be a part of the matches, in whichever way possible.

Furthermore, wrestling is about ensuring the interactive experience keeps growing. This is exactly what Vince McMahon and WWE focused on. Everything about The ThunderDome is about taking the experience up several notches.

After the hit wrestling took due to COVID-19, this change was much needed. Viewers were getting used to the amped up storylines and cinematic matches. As a result, the viewership did take its own hit.

While the company was trying to do everything to revive the viewership numbers, they kept the ThunderDome an absolute secret until the very end.

I believe that the ThunderDome was revealed at the perfect time for the audience and the fans. This experience was much needed to make sure the wrestling universe does not come to a crashing doom. Maybe it’s true that only Vince McMahon is crazy enough to launch an entire ThunderDome when expectations from the company were not very high.
