Roman Reigns is considered one of the biggest stars of WWE. However, it’s been two months since fans got to see The Tribal Chief in action. During his absence, someone else is taking up his place. Seth Rollins has comfortably dethroned Roman Reigns but not as the leader of The Bloodline. Despite being the current WWE World Champion, he was toppled by Seth Rollins in not one but two major areas.

Seth Rollins establishes himself as no.1

Since Roman Reigns went off the air, Seth Rollins has garnered attention due to his memorable feud with various superstars. The Visionary has featured in nine Premium Live Events this year. On the other hand, Reigns was part of six events. This makes the score 9-6 with Rollins leading the way. This is a major blow to Reigns as the Dominant World Champion, who has been sitting on that throne for more than 1,000 days was not featured a lot on the screen. This came in days after Seth Rollins dethroned the 38-year-old star at PWI rating.

According to Pro Wrestling Insider (PWI), Seth Rollins is the number one pro wrestling star in 2023. Last year, Roman Reigns claimed this position. However, he now sits on number 2. According to PWI, the 37-year-old star has earned this position due to his bankability as a star. Rollins was able to sell all the shows and was also a part of many advertising posters. Fans also noticed his efforts when he gave a very special tribute to Bray Wyatt. This has helped him to amass more popularity.

It is said that Reigns took a break after being super kicked by Jey Uso at the SummerSlam 2023 PLE. But the reason why his television appearance had to be written was entirely different.

Why we don’t get to see much of Roman Reigns?

The main reason for this is the star’s new contract, which he signed in 2022. Last year, Reigns did not have many television appearances. He had said that with the new contract, his appearances would be fewer as compared to before. The change comes from the fact that he wants to spend some time with his family now. In an interview, he said, “When you’ve been on the road for 10 years straight, and someone who has been at the highest level, the main-event level, I ran a full schedule for a long time.” This implied that due to his schedule, he was staying away from his family for a long time.

He further added, “For me, it was just trying to balance everything. And as someone who has five children, we’re at a very critical portion of their lives, where they’re so young. This is where we build these relationships and these bonds, and they get to know who their dad is.” He further added that he will be focusing on bigger PLEs and won’t appear in every event. Although it might look like there is not much on the cards for him, Paul Heyman once confirmed that he is working on something big along with Reigns.
