Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler Should Be Laser Focused, as Their First Title Defense After Huge SmackDown Win Has Been Made “Official”

WWE brought Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn to the main roster during this year’s Draft. Shortly after, they decided to go after the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler. They challenged the duo for their first title defense.

This week on Friday Night SmackDown, the main roster women’s tag team title holders defeated the NXT Women’s tag team title holders. After their huge title win, Raquel Rodriguez, who was present at ringside during the match, went up to confront the tag team champs and demand a rematch.

Liv Morgan returns to challenge Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler

Rousey and Baszler were delighted to defeat their opponents and emerge victorious. But soon their celebration was interrupted by the returning Liv Morgan. After Rodriguez demanded a rematch for the tag team titles that she and her former tag team partner never lost, the injured star made a surprise return.

Morgan and Rodriguez then went to the center of the ring and had an intense stare-down for a couple of seconds with Rousey and Baszler. WWE has now made the challenge official. Therefore, the returning star and her tag team partner will face off against the Undisputed Women’s Tag Team Champions for their titles at Money in the Bank.

Morgan shared the news on her Instagram profile with the caption, “OHHH MYYY… (eye emojis).” It has been around six weeks since the WWE Universe saw her in action. The last time she was inside the ropes was in the month of May.

Morgan was out due to a bad injury

Morgan and Rodriguez teamed up to take on Bayley and Dakota Kai from the Damage CTRL on 05/12 SmackDown. It was during the show that Morgan suffered an injury. In fact, she was not the only one to get injured that day. Kai also had an injury courtesy of a rough landing during the match.

PWInsider later reported that Morgan and Kai had a torn rotator cuff and serious ACL injury, respectively. Well, Morgan has recovered from her injury and thus will compete in a match soon.
