Rumors of Gunther Facing a New Challenge as 36-Year-Old Superstar Eyes a Return on WWE Raw

So far, Gunther has shown that he is worthy of holding the WWE Intercontinental Championship. There have been numerous opponents who have challenged him for his title. However, the wrestler has overcome all of them. But now, it appears that a new potential threat looms over his head. A lost NXT gem appears to be waiting on his WWE return.

Gunther has proven to be more than capable of defending the IC title. Nevertheless, this former NXT superstar’s rumors may catch you off guard. This is because not only is WWE supposedly planning to bring him back, but the promotion might also be trying to give him an extra push.

Which new WWE entry should fans look out for?

Johnny Gargano is a face that fans have seen on and off when it comes to his WWE appearances. Although he is often working with the promotion, he doesn’t usually get a lot of screen time. The last time that fans saw him on WWE TV was back on May 15th on a Monday Night Raw episode. But now, he may be back for more. There have been long-running signs of Gargano’s potential on-screen return and things now look more solid than ever.

Tomasso Ciampa looks confident and ready to fight Gunther for the IC title soon. As he is two-for-two against Gunther’s cohorts, it appears that he will be facing the Austrian wrestler next. This also brings us to the reports that came in a few months ago about a potential reunion of the ‘DIY’.

Though Ciampa was introduced to the main roster without his partner, reports suggested that a reunion between the duo is inevitable and will eventually happen. And now, since Ciampa will be facing ‘The Ring General’, Johnny Gargano could enter the fray to help his old friend.

So far, there are no confirmations other than the reports and rumors. So, for now, all we can do is speculate and wait until Gunther is ready yet again to defend his WWE title against another challenger.
