It has been a busy week in professional wrestling, especially for the WWE. Apart from everything going on with Vince McMahon and the WrestleMania fiasco, the company has lost another important top star to a rival show. Mercedes Mone, as Sasha Banks, won a lot of titles on WWE. She was the NXT Women’s Champion and the RAW Women’s Champion five times. Now, many people say that Mercedes Mone is going to AEW, but with her appearing at a rival promotion, the former WWE star could be pulling a fast one on her fans.

Massive tease from Mercedes Mone before AEW Dynamite announcement

The wrestling world is talking about Mercedes Mone yet again. A lot of people have ideas and speculation about what the former IWGP Women’s Champion will do when she gets back in the ring.  Mone, who used to be known as Sasha Banks in WWE, hasn’t competed since May 2023 because she hurt her ankle in the last match of the Strong Women’s Championship event against Willow Nightingale.

While Banks could just be making a stop off at her old promotion, it is surprising to see so close to her imminent debut at AEW.

The circumstances around Mercedes Mone’s AEW Signing

In the past few months, AEW and WWE, the two biggest wrestling companies, have been in a bidding war to sign Mercedes Mone. After she was on All In, a number of reliable sources said she would debut at the Tony Khan-led promotion. The parties’ discussions, however, came to a sudden halt in December.

Later, rumors spread that she might come back to WWE after leaving in 2022. While Mone was dropping hints online, it looked like the deal was almost complete. Later, sources stated that WWE and Mercedes were “far apart” for money and that it was expected she would sign with another brand soon.

It looked like the previous Women’s Champion wanted a deal that gave her more than Charlotte Flair. Now, The Boss will be debuting at AEW and will be on TV by March. So, fans can look forward to seeing Mercedes Mone in the ring at the upcoming Revolution pay-per-view.
