At that point, Lesnar refused to do anything major in the ring with Rollins since he knew everyone would just remember The Deadman returning to confront him about the WrestleMania 30 loss. Therefore, he declared that it would be a normal match, and the rest will happen at SummerSlam.
“But [Brock Lesnar] was like, ‘They’re gonna remember me and Taker going off, so why do you wanna do all this crap? No one’s gonna care. Just tell a simple story, we’ll get to the end, and we’ll do the business with Taker at SummerSlam. Sorry, but that’s how it is.”
This broke Seth Rollins’ heart, and he felt Lesnar did not want to work with young talent. It was later when he understood what embracing the vision meant!
“I remember being heartbroken. I remember being like, ‘Man, why is this guy like this? He doesn’t wanna work with younger talent? What is this bullcrap?’ But I didn’t get it, man. I didn’t see the bigger picture.” H/t Broken Skull Sessions
