During his time in the WWE, Dwayne Johnson was a big shot, bigger than anyone the audience had seen in the past. While he was regularly competing with Stone Cold Steve Austin for the top spot every week, his influence runs deep in the company. Following his footsteps, many wrestlers ventured to Hollywood and became massive stars. But the one everyone is keeping an eye on to follow in DJ’s footsteps is his own daughter, Simone Johnson.
For months, Simone hinted at a potential WWE debut, but she had to sit back for a while because of knee surgery. But just a few weeks ago, she debuted in a surprising fashion, becoming the new member of Schism. This marks her first appearance on live TV. Also, under the tutelage of WWE legend Shawn Michaels, she is sure to make her mark in NXT. But let’s look at the first time when Johnson was asked about Simone and announced that she aspires to become a WWE wrestler.

Dwayne Johnson once revealed his daughter’s plans of becoming a wrestler on live TV
While appearing on Good Morning America, Dwayne Johnson was asked about his daughter and her future. Johnson replied, “Well, here’s the crazy thing about my daughter, Simone. She’s so smart. We’re all so proud of her. She’s going into her senior year, she signed with IMG and there’s a model there. She was the Golden Globes ambassador with me. Simone is working so hard and her work has already started.”

“She wants to be a WWE wrestler. I love that idea and we had this big conversation. She came with me to Beijing and I said, honey, whatever your passion is, I support that and wrestling was good to me. It started my career in Madison Square Garden. So, bring it on. She’s gonna be a champ.” Then when they asked Johnson’s mother, she said, “Absolutely, she will lay the SmackDown.”

While this is her first appearance, as Johnson mentioned, she is hard-working and dedicated to anything she puts her mind to. So, it should be a no-brainer for all wrestling fans to keep an eye out for her. Also, while many people were unimpressed by her debut, critics lauded it for being something new for a talent who has family connections with previous and current superstars.
