The Retribution continued their reign of terror on the latest episode of SmackDown. For the very first time, they decided to attack established main roster Superstars, making their intentions clear as day.
Unfortunately, the ascendant Big E along with John Morrison had to take the fall in order to make the new kids look strong.
We kicked off Friday Night SmackDown with Big E making his way to the ring. In a short promo, the New Day member declared that his time was coming and he was about to dominate the singles division.

The Retribution make a second attack
WWE later announced that Big E vs John Morrison would close out the show and extra security will be provided to ensure that no disturbance takes place. However, they were relieved off their duties by Sheamus, leaving the main event vulnerable to another attack.
As expected, the lights began flickering mid-way during the main event contest. This time, the entire roster came out to the ringside in order to protect their show from these unruly invaders.

Unfortunately for them, The Retribution were more organized than they had anticipated. Instead of coming to the ring where they would have faced more competition, they took out the people backstage and created complete carnage.
Before back up could arrive, The Retribution were long gone.

Despite being critical of this angle in the past, I’ll have to say that week after week, I’m more and more interested in this mysterious group. WWE has done a good job in slowly building these young Superstars as a credible threat.

While we have seen this same storyline with Nexus in the past, there is something more intriguing about the idea of a cult-like organization that wants to inflict anarchy upon the world’s biggest professional wrestling organization.
If the Nexus wanted more opportunities within the company, The Retribution want to destroy the company itself. Needless to say, as and when the faces of its Superstars are revealed, the fans will treat them like main event caliber talent.
