“S**tty Move”: Booker T Thrashed Online for CM Punk ‘Fight’ Allegation After Truth Finally Comes Out

Last week, Booker T claimed that he had been on the verge of coming to blows with CM Punk backstage at NXT. His statements did not go unnoticed by fans, which led the media to dig deeper into the subject. However, WWE sources denied that such an altercation had taken place.

Aware of his controversial statements being called out to be untrue by several sources, Booker T has made a major revelation. Deciding to confess, the legend revealed that his statements were false and that he was just joking.

CM Punk’s return in 2023 brought with it the ghosts of his multiple past controversies to WWE. Many detractors of Punk are waiting to see him involved in a new scandal. It seemed like this came true when Booker T mentioned in a recent Hall of Fame podcast episode that he almost had a run-in with Punk backstage at NXT. However, after several sources came out and revealed that such an incident did not occur, Booker T. now confesses that it was all a joke. He said, “Look, me and CM Punk, we won’t be having a fight, okay? I wanna let everyone know out there. I have no ill will towards CM Punk. Contrary to popular belief, I consider CM Punk a friend. Alright? So when I’m saying something about CM Punk guys, do not take it literally… don’t take it seriously. 

He further added, “If you hear me say anything here on the Hall of Fame, this show, it’s show-related. I’m trying to entertain my fans. I’m trying to entertain the fans that’s watching this. Trying to give you guys a moment where you ain’t gotta think about that kinda stuff.”

CM Punk is a well-regarded figure in WWE’s developmental territory, The new generation of the promotion labels The Second City Saint as someone who is “helpful and open” to people who approach him for advice. The five-time world champion’s words sparked frustration, especially considering The Best in the World’s history of backstage altercations.

As has been the case in the past, the WWE legend’s words were intended to attract attraction and do not have their basis set in reality. A similar case occurred in 2018 when the two-time WWE Hall of Famer made statements against Corey Graves, which resulted in a prank put together by both that fooled many. But this time it seems like the fans aren’t taking it lightly as they are voicing their opinion against the Hall of Famer.

Fans speak out against Booker T

Looks like fans have had enough of Booker T’s habit of exaggerating claims. His tendency to make such statements to attract more listeners did not sit well with the WWE Universe. In fact, they took to social media to speak out against the Hall of Famer. Here are some of the reactions:
