The pandemic was one sorrowful period that none of us ever want to recollect. Many lost their jobs, their homes, and in some cases, even their loved ones. Luckily it’s all behind us now and life is back to normal. And recently Ex-WWE star Summer Rae recollected her situation during the time of Covid when she was jobless.

But one friend from the adult industry pulled a few strings and secured her a full-time job.

Summer Rae was with the WWE from 2011 to 2017. After that she worked on the independent wrestling circuit all the way up till 2020 before making a brief return to WWE in 2022. But during her time away from the company she had to face financial difficulties due to Covid shutting down many ventures.

After that she had no source of livelihood or income and that continued for quite some time. Until her friend, the adult entertainment star Lisa Ann offered her a job in ‘America’s Best Racing’ that Ann couldn’t take up due to a conflict of interest.

On her recent appearance on the ‘Insight with Chris Van Vliet’ Podcast, she said, “2020, maybe 2021, after the great pandemic, I had a mutual friend who got offered a position at ‘America’s Best Racing’. And she couldn’t take it as it was a conflict of interest. Actually, you know who it was, Lisa Ann, so she was a sweetheart.

Rae continued, “I had met her Sirius radio years ago, we followed each other on Instagram, didn’t really chat. And she was so sweet, she teed me off, this full-time gig the first year, we live streamed every month. I went from covid getting no checks and no money to actually getting paid monthly from this company.”

Initially, Rae had no idea about racing and gambling but as time went by, she picked up the job and became a pro. She also mentioned fans flooding her DM’s asking her to come back to wrestling. But it seems like she has already made up her mind.

Summer Rae has no plans to return to the WWE

Summer Rae left the WWE in 2022 after her second run with the brand. The last time fans saw her in the ring was at the Royal Rumble in 2022.

On the podcast, she also mentioned that she had left the WWE in 2017 due to her injury. Her injury was a bone spur on her vertebra in the neck. In addition, she also has a disorder called Thoracic Outlet Syndrome.

She has fully recovered now but doesn’t feel like she can wrestle every week. She also expressed her desire of taking up a role where she could nurture new wrestling talent and help them get to the top.
