Tension Rises Between Sasha Banks and Bayley after SummerSlam Defeat

Friendships are an integral part of our lives. But as the popular adage goes, best friends have the capability to become your worst enemies. The slow burn towards a big split between Bayley and Sasha Banks is making us believe more and more in that theory.
SummerSlam was probably the straw that broke the camel’s back. After months of subtle dissension, Sasha displayed the first visible signs of frustration with her best friend. A recapitulation of events is in order before I delve into the seeds of discord between the two.
As decided last week, Bayley came out first to defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Asuka. After a handy assist by Banks, Bayley was able to knock off the ‘Empress of Tomorrow’.

Understandably enough, Sasha expected help in her match later in the night. It’s not as if Bayley didn’t do that. Sadly, her helping hand seemed a lot more inconsiderate than the one Banks offered her earlier.
As Asuka was eviscerating Banks, Bayley climbed up on the ring apron. A desperate Asuka tried to knock Bayley off. Instead of taking the attack head on, Bayley dodged out of the way. This allowed Asuka more time to land a kick to her head.

With Bayley out of the equation, Asuka applied her signature Asuka lock to a washed out Sasha Banks. After some resistance, ‘The Boss’ had no choice but to tap out.

Even though many of us might think that Bayley did the best she could, Sasha clearly didn’t see it that way. Her face had the expression of a disgusting realization. Unfortunately for Bayley, it seems like this realization isn’t in her favor.

It’s clear as day that one of the two is about to turn on the other. As of now, the guess will obviously be Sasha. However, Bayley is playing the heel role to perfection. Don’t be surprised if she turns out to be the one who backstabs her best friend.
Whatever happens, the two have garnered all the attention that they need.
