The Rock Surpasses George Clooney, Adds Unbelievable Record to His Name

The Rock is a history-maker, record-breaker, and The People’s Champ! Whether it’s WWE or Hollywood, record-breaking is something he can do with ease in any business.

The liquor business has become the newest business that every celebrity seems to be getting into. Johnson also capitalized on the opportunity and launched his tequila known as Teremana in 2020.

As he wins at everything he does, he has excelled in the tequila business, and the numbers highlight that.

The Rock took to Instagram and announced to his 288 million followers that Teremana has sold over 600,000 nine-liter cases in 2021, making it the fastest-growing tequila in history.

Teremana outsold other celebrity brands such as 818 by Kendall Jenner and long-standing names in the business such as Jose Cuervo and Don Julio.

He provided some statistics to understand how much tequila Johnson sold in 2021. He said, “For some context on why Teremana’s 600,000 cases sold is “holy shit” news/ George Clooney’s Casamigos Tequila was selling about 170,000 cases when Diageo acquired it for $1 Billion.”

He thanked his distribution partners in the post and toasted the best quality and tasting tequila in the business.

The Rock talks about getting into the tequila business

In a year-end interview with CNN, Dwayne Johnson reflected on 2021 for his Teremana brand and what he plans to do in 2022. He said that becoming a tequila mogul was never in his initial strategy.

“I’m happy but not satisfied with what we’ve been able to accomplish with Teremana tequila thus far.” The former WWE champion said, “The work is just beginning. My goal for 2022 and beyond is to make Teremana a true international tequila brand.”

Despite launching in March 2020, just when the pandemic shook the world, he still managed to break a massive record. Johnson told Rolling Stones that he was shocked with the success of his liquor.

“Has the brand success surprised me? Yes! To this degree, yes.” Johnson kept his expectations realistic as, during tough times, people want to stick with what they’re familiar with.

“I was well aware based on the other businesses that I have been in that when hard times hit people. Consumers want what they are comfortable with.”

“We were the new tequila in the market, so I was aware of that consumer behavior again. Was it exactly what I envisioned? It was much more than I envisioned.”
