Recently, the wrestling legend Sting returned to the AEW and shocked the world with one line. After serving the professional wrestling industry for almost 38 years, it seems like Sting has finally decided to retire.

The AEW star teased his retirement while cutting a promo with MJF. This united WWE and AEW fans as Sting is the fan-favorite wrestler in both fandoms. Fans of both promotions kept their grudges aside and started to pour in love and support for the legend.

Sting drops a hint about his retirement

The AEW star Sting made his way to the ring during this week’s AEW Dynamite. He confronted the AEW world champion The MJF and cut an amazing promo. The one thing that grabbed everyone’s attention was when Sting dropped a potential hint about his retirement.

During the promo, the WWE Hall of Famer said that he just wants to be real with everyone and mentioned that the showtime is almost over for him.

During the promo, Sting said, “Let’s face it….I am just gonna be real with everybody …..Showtime is almost over for Sting.”

This statement made fans take a step back for a bit. Although they were shocked to hear Sting’s statement, they showered him with love and support as the legend has been entertaining them for a very long time. Sting first appeared in Tony Khan’s company in 2020. He signed a multi-year contract with AEW and it is reported that his contract will expire in late 2023. This report has added fuel to the rumors of the wrestling legend’s retirement.

Sting has been serving the wrestling industry for almost 38 years. He had an amazing time in WCW and TNA and a brief stint in WWE. In 2015, everyone thought that Sting might retire after he injured his neck while competing against Seth Rollins. However, he returned to action with AEW after being on the sidelines and has kept on competing inside the ring.

And now that he may bid goodbye to the professional wrestling world, it would be interesting to see how Tony Khan books him during his final days.
