This Guy’s Gonna Be in a Wheelchair in Six Months’: ‘Epitome of Strength’ Hulk Hogan’s Melee Against Depression Fully Uncloaked by Close Friend, Who Had a Front Row Seat

Hulk Hogan had a legendary career for several years, and he suffered multiple physical injuries. However, the pain that hurt him the most was the emotional one around 2007. He calls this period one of the tough times he has ever had in his life.

Recently, one of his closest friends, Eric Bischoff, shared about how bad Hogan’s health was at the time. He recalled planning to stay with the WWE legend until he was back on his feet.

Eric Bischoff writes how much Hulk Hogan suffered on a personal level dealing with his dark period

Recently, Eric Bischoff released his new book “Grateful,”. It is a follow-up autobiography to his 2006’s “Controversy Creates Cash”. In the book, he has talked about Hulk Hogan falling into a bad depression.

The former WCW top official seems experienced The Hulkster’s dark period from a front-row seat.

Bischoff wrote, “Aside from returning home every other weekend or so, I basically lived with Terry, in that condo on the beach, for a period of about two or three months. I now had a front row seat to witness what he was going through, and it was tough. The pain was getting worse by the day, and by the time he started having trouble walking, I really started feeling horrible for him.”

He added, “After all, here was this guy – Hulk Hogan, remember – who had basically been the epitome of strength and power for so long. Now I’d be walking next to him and thinking, ‘This guy’s gonna be in a wheelchair in six months.’ It was that bad.” (Wrestling Headlines)

The class of WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff stayed with Hogan when he was in a bad period. He closely saw how The Immortal One watching his public image being destroyed while suffering. Hogan had built an image, slamming wrestlers and taking bumps in the ring.

In 2007, Hogan got a divorce from his first wife, Linda Marie Claridge. Also, in the same year, his son, Nick Hogan, was in a car crash. Furthermore, in 2012, he was in the middle of the Gawker Lawsuit. At the same time, his back issues were also troubling him.

How Eric Bischoff felt he should stay with Hogan for a while?

In the book, the WWE Hall of Famer wrote why he decided to stay with Hogan for a while. Bischoff wrote, “I’ve seen it before – people get deeper and deeper into depression, and one of the first things that happens is a withdrawal from being around other people.” 

He added, “They want to wallow in their own misery, but ideally away from others – and that was what was happening with Terry. Based on the tone of our conversations – and the subjects of those conversations – I could tell that he needed somebody to be with him.”

The Hulkster’s former boss cares for him and until he felt Hogan was fine he stayed with him. Clearly, this support from Bischoff surely made the 12-time world champion feel good and come out of depression slowly.
