Trish Stratus Brutally Exposes WWE for Brainwashing Female Wrestlers About the Fans’ Perspective on Them: “I Was Told Point Blank”

WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus has once again grabbed the spotlight. The female wrestler has established herself as one of the company’s top stars during her stint in the wrestling promotion. The wrestling industry and the current generation of stars can be thankful to Stratus who led the women’s evolution, which propelled the status of WWE’s female stars to greater heights. Nevertheless, this time she took the drapes off from the time when WWE used to do discrimination against their female superstars.

The seven-time WWE women’s champion talked about all the hardships that a female wrestler had to face two decades ago.

Recently, Trish Stratus appeared on Corey Graves’ podcast, ‘After The Bell”. There, she talked about several things. But the highlight of the podcast was the segment when Stratus exposed WWE for brainwashing female wrestlers and not treating them well.

Stratus said that currently, the women’s division in WWE is a lot better than it was during her prime time. She revealed that she was directly told by the creatives that fans didn’t want to see women wrestlers. Additionally, she disclosed that overcoming this was the first obstacle that female superstars used to face in the past.

Talking to the host, Trish Stratus said, “Right now, they have a trail that they get to then make and make their own and make their turns and stuff like that, but for us, there was no nothing…….There was no interest from the fans or backstage. There was, You know, I was told point blank, they don’t want to see the women do that. So okay, that was our first obstacle. We were told… the fans don’t see that we and the fans were not conditioned to see that.”

Not only this, but Stratus also talked about the disgraceful chants the female wrestlers used to receive back then.

Furthermore, Trish Stratus disclosed that women wrestlers had to face ‘puppy chants’. She even mentioned that it took a lot of hard work to convert those ‘puppy chants’ into the ‘holy s**t’ chants.

“So we had the puppy chants…….And so when we were finally…like sort of re-educate, the fans of like that from a woman. And…it was hard. It was….. it was hard work because if we had to sit through the puppy with the worker a**es off and sit through the puppy chants too. But to get the point where then they stop saying puppies. And they were saying holy sh*t during our match, you know, and that was a lot of work.”

If we talk about today’s scenario, then still there are several discriminations that female WWE superstars have to face. However, the condition of women’s division is much better than it was two decades ago.
