McMahon replied, “No wants to give back to the business more than The Undertaker, more than Mark Calaway. And he knew it was important to give back to the business. There comes a time when it’s time to do that. So why not then when you consider who else looking down the line looking at the talent roster, who else possibly could Undertaker work with? And at that, give back in the biggest possible way he could to help someone be a star.”
Vince McMahon explained that it was time for The Undertaker to pass the baton to some other superstar. Undertaker has been one of the biggest names in the WWE and to beat his undefeated streak could easily give a superstar the limelight he needs. Calaway agreed to the decision, and The Undertaker lost his undefeated streak at WrestleMania 30.
Was Brock Lesnar the right choice for breaking The Undertaker’s streak?
It has always been a big debate among WWE fans whether Brock Lesnar was the right choice for defeating The Undertaker. Lesnar was already an established superstar at that time and his appearances in the WWE were also minimal. According to some fans, the opportunity should’ve been given to Roman Reigns.

Vince McMahon had his reasons for giving the opportunity to Lesnar, “When you look at that talent roster, who is it gonna be? There was no one there on the roster potentially. In the following year or year after that, it was timing. The one person whose time was there at the moment who mark thought okay, this is it, that’d be Brock.” The Beast was the right superstar at the right time, according to Mr. McMahon.
