Vince McMahon is a man who treated professional wrestling as a way to entertain people. His whole motto with WWE was to create a product that could be a relief from the olden days of brutal wrestling. This way, McMahon managed to mix pop culture into wrestling, creating stars that generations would remember. One such star was Zach Gowen.
Zach Gowen was the first single-legged wrestler in WWE history. But his inspirational story dates back to when he was just 8. Diagnosed with bone cancer, Gowen had his leg amputated. But during this time, he started watching WWE and aspired to be a WWE superstar as well. For his dreams to come true, the single-legged man would start his training in 2002.

While talking about his career in WWE in an interview with Metro Zach Gowen said, “It’s just crazy to me, full circle, how woven WWE is into the fabric of my life. As a child, losing my leg and then being able to escape into that world saved my life.”

“And then, as a young adult being able to participate and make memories with The Big Show and Brock Lesnar and Hulk Hogan and Vince. And then in my late 20s, Vince McMahon literally saving my life. [laughs] It’s kinda strange, how woven that company and how important that company is to my daily life even at 38 years old. It’s unbelievable.”

From here, Gowen only went up, being introduced as a fan saving Mr. America (Hulk Hogan in the American flag). He then saved, come alongside Mr. America, until Hogan was let go by the company. Here, the young man started his feud with Vince McMahon and impressed the crowd with matches against the Big Show.
