WWE and Vince McMahon are known for shaking up and revamping characters. The latest name in the long list of gimmick changes could be none other than the former NXT Champion Keith Lee.
Vince McMahon has brave plans for former NXT Champion
After a five-month hiatus, Lee came back recently on RAW and answered WWE Champion Bobby Lashley‘s open challenge. Despite putting in a good fight, he lost. This made fans wonder what was going on with The Limitless One.

Since his RAW debut, WWE had put Lee up against the heavyweights of the industry. He had matches with the likes of Randy Orton and was a part of the winning Team RAW at Survivor Series 2020. But then he took a five months hiatus because of COVID-19 and other heart issues.

After July 19, Lee was once again absent from live programming. According to the latest reports, WWE is making Lee work in Dark matches prior to a revamp. The short squash matches before Raw and SmackDown are also a way of seeing crowd reaction.
WrestlingNews.co recently reported that Vince McMahon “has considered turning him into a monster heel.” This would be an interesting turn for Lee, as the former NXT Champion is yet to have a heel turn on the main roster.

Keith Lee reveals why he went on a hiatus
In a long YouTube video, Lee chronicled his journey and recovery from COVID. He thanked his fiance and fellow superstar Mia Yim for sticking by his side.
He briefly came back in February against Riddle on RAW. But the very next day, he had a shocking phone call about something in his blood samples.
“For me, it was the heart & that led to very scary times,” Lee said, “I was basically forbidden from training or any activity outside of a light walk, so there was a fear that doing more than that, that there was a chance that I could just up and pass away.”

WWE came through and sent Lee to Pittsburgh to get checked for many potential outcomes. He almost went under genetic testing because everyone thought he could have some kind of heart disease.
After a few MRIs, Lee slowly got better and was back in the ring. Although he did not know what was next, Lee was now healthier than before. Lee concluded with the wish to move forward and fight to make the most of what he can do in WWE.
