In 2014, Brock Lesnar was on a roll. The Beast Incarnate humbled the Undertaker at Wrestlemania to end the Dead Man’s streak. At Summerslam John Cena was squashed like a newbie jobber as he got a world-class tour of Suplex City which resulted in Lesnar becoming the WWE World Heavyweight Champion which he kept for throughout the year. A highlight of this year for Lesnar would be the time he destroyed the ‘Worlds Strongest Man’, Mark Henry.

The Beast had earlier in the year dislocated Henry’s arms which caused him to be out of the ring to regain his health back in the  Kayfabe world. So when he showed up at Raw when Lesnar and Heyman had just cut a promo and were going backstage.

Suddenly Henry’s music played and the crowd gave a huge pop. Lesnar laughed and went to the steel steps. Henry came to attack him and then Lesnar tried to punch him while jumping. Henry easily blocked it and attacked Lesnar. Lesnar went down. Henry tried to Irish whip him but Lesnar reversed and BAM! , Henry hits the steel steps. After this Lesnar attacked Henry hard. He then gives an F-5 on the commentary table to end the segment. This segment helped put Brock over as a credible threat to the Undertaker’s streak.

Mark Henry on Brock Lesnar

Many fans however did not like the segment. Henry was a legitimate strong man. He was excellent with the mic and his action looked deadly. He had successfully put over his ‘Hall of Pain’ gimmick but Vince just did not like him and always underused Mark.

Mark Henry has never talked about his incident. He did comment on Lesnar in an interview given to the Wrestling Inc in 2019. He showed his respect to the Beast but called him a ‘butthole’ as Lesnar could not be kept around the kids and audience because he would eventually cuss at someone. Henry believes that Lesnar is like ‘Andre the Giant’ as they both are an attraction and that it is fine if he does not do the 300 plus days on the road which all WWE Superstars do.
