WWE moved all its programming into isolation as soon as the news of the pandemic spread. First in the Performance Centre and then in the ThunderDome, WWE maintained a strict no audience policy.
However, as many sports open their doors to live audiences, professional wrestling is also preparing itself for this slow but drastic transition. Both NXT’s Capitol Wrestling Center and AEW’s Daily’s Place Amphitheater have been hosting limited but live crowds for several months. However, WWE is airing Raw and SmackDown live behind closed doors.

With fans getting increasingly impatient to attend live shows, some reports shed light on when we can expect WWE to open its doors for spectators. WrestleVote has reported that WWE will stay at Tropicana Field, Florida, for three months before bringing in the live crowd.
“Fans at the Royal Rumble still possible, potentially even at the Trop in Tampa Bay. WWE is hoping to start traditional live arena shows with fans the night after WrestleMania,” wrote WrestleVote.
Despite the speculations, WWE will need Florida authority to allow live attendance. After all, the second wave of coronavirus has the potential to change the most detailed of plans.

Alba also noted that the Raymond Jay Stadium, WrestleMania 37’s venue, will host a limited crowd for Super Bowl LV in February. This makes fans hopeful of a similar arrangement at Mania.
As the world is opening up to the new normal, we will hopefully get to see WWE hosting a live audience soon.
