WWE doesn’t really fall short of amazing personalities who have shown an interest in their brand over the years. This also means the art of appreciation comes naturally to the promotion’s culture. WWE’s relationship with pop culture celebrities also means there are few unexpected Hall of Fame entries in its celebrity wing year after year. And now a new name has joined the list.

Andy Kaufman was a comedian and a Hollywood actor who also popularly became a wrestler due to his antics. All of this happened with a very popular feud that Kaufman had with Jerry Lawler. This feud became the reason why Kaufman is now being inducted into the WWE HOF.

It all started with Kaufman claiming that he is the ‘Inter-Gender Wrestling Champion of the World’ and he offered money to any woman who could pin him. This led to WWE legend Jerry Lawler getting into a feud with the comedian. Although the two were the best of friends off-stage, the drama they provided on–camera got everybody hooked.

The two went on to wrestle in a fight not long after their feud had started. This way, Kaufman became one of the fan-favorite non-wrestlers to have an impact on the wrestling world. Hence, his induction into the HOF made a lot of sense to WWE fans.

This sounds like a great idea. WWE should consider this investment in the near future due to the amount of popularity the company has.

Hopefully, Jerry Lawler is feeling better since his past health scare. It would be pretty meaningful if he inducts his old friend into the HOF.

Finally, some more nostalgia from fans as they close off with their lovely words. With Jerry Lawler having some health issues in the recent past fans would want the WWE Hall of Famer to get healthy so he could do the honors for his late friend.

Kaufman passed away on 16 May 1984 after battling a long-term organ disease. The comic actor will now be remembered once again in a ceremonial way in the Hall of Fame class of 2023.
